Getting Started

MapRoutes makes it easy to save and share Apple Maps routes with multiple waypoints.

Creating a Route

  1. Open MapRoutes and tap "New Route"
  2. Give your route a name
  3. Add waypoints by searching for locations
  4. Reorder waypoints by dragging
  5. Your route is automatically saved

Sharing Routes

Share your routes in multiple ways:

  • Share Link: Generates a URL that opens the route in MapRoutes
  • Apple Maps: Opens the route in Apple Maps app
  • Export File: Save as a .maproute file

Importing Routes

To import a shared route:

  • Tap a MapRoutes share link
  • Open a .maproute file
  • The route will be saved to your library

Frequently Asked Questions

How many waypoints can I add?

You can add as many waypoints as needed. However, Apple Maps has limitations on route complexity.

Are my routes synced across devices?

Currently, routes are stored locally on each device. You can share routes between devices using the share feature.

Can I edit a route after saving?

Yes, tap any saved route to edit its name or waypoints.

Why won't my shared route open?

Make sure MapRoutes is installed on the device. The share link requires the app to open.
